Who is eligible to apply for a scholarship?
All families with one or more children enrolled in or applying to a Catholic elementary or middle school in the Diocese of Fall River.
How does my child qualify for a scholarship?
All FACE scholarships are needs-based scholarships. Based upon the information FACE receives from FACTS, an Allocations Committee will determine if you qualify for a scholarship, and if so, the level of award.
Is the scholarship academic based or needs-based?
All FACE scholarships are needs-based scholarships.
What is the deadline to apply?
2022-2023 Application deadline has passed. Applications for the 2023-2024 school-year will open in December 2022.
Does my child have to be registered in a Catholic school to apply?
Yes, we encourage families to have their child(ren) at least registered at one of our Catholic schools. Please click here to find the Catholic school closest to you.
Is there a cost to apply?
FACTS charges a $40 application fee to apply for a scholarship. This fee is $40 no matter how many children you add to the application.
When will we know if we qualify and for how much?
Scholarship awards will occur in the spring before the academic year and your school will be notified shortly after. Applications submitted after the deadline will be subject to a much smaller amount of remaining available scholarship dollars.
What if I do not have access to a computer?
Our Catholic schools are very versed in the FACTS system and are willing to assist you with your application. Please contact the principal of the school and you will be provided with a computer and person who can assist you with the application and uploading of documents.
Does my child have to be Catholic to apply?
We are Catholic in that we teach and live the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Just as importantly we are catholic – meaning universal. We welcome students and families from all faith backgrounds who desire an excellent education and to participate fully in the life of our schools
Do I have to re-apply every year?
Yes, you need to re-apply for scholarships every year. In most cases, re-applying only requires uploading new tax documents and W-2’s as well as confirming that there are no additional changes to other information.
Do I have to repay these scholarships?
No, every scholarship based upon financial need and is not considered a loan. You do not have to repay any amount that is awarded to your child(ren).
