{"id":1442,"date":"2018-10-09T13:40:05","date_gmt":"2018-10-09T17:40:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/facedfr.wpengine.com\/?page_id=1442"},"modified":"2023-09-05T23:11:51","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T23:11:51","slug":"the-catholic-school-advantage","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.face-dfr.org\/es\/the-catholic-school-advantage\/","title":{"rendered":"The Catholic School Advantage"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Catholic education is considered a \u201cNational Asset.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the University of Notre Dame\u2019s Alliance for Catholic Education Division, a number of Catholic school studies across the country looked at the \u201cCatholic school advantage\u201d and from those studies, a number of very important advantages were identified1:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The achievement gap between races and income groups is smaller in faith based schools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Black and Latino students who attend Catholic schools are much more likely to graduate from both high school and college than their peers from public schools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Highly disadvantaged children, particularly benefit from Catholic schools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students in Catholic schools demonstrate a higher academic achievement than similar students in public schools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Catholic school graduates are more civilly engaged, more committed to service and more tolerant of others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And graduates of our Catholic high schools earn higher wages than peers who graduated from public schools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>1Fleming, D.J., Lavertu, S., &amp; Crawford, W.
